Like the great storytellers and social observers before her – from Bob Dylan through to the Sex Pistols, it is little surprise that Louise Distras is already garnering comparisons to charged songstresses Brody Dalle and Courtney Love, but this British indie songstress is already a woman in a league of her own. Taking inspiration from Nirvana, Queen and The Beatles, Louise Distras has channelled her anger, hopes and fears into anthems of love and fury for yet another let down generation with the release of her critically acclaimed debut 'Dreams from the Factory Floor'. Ticking both the post-punk and pop boxes with explosive lyrics and riotous sonic disposition, Distras' live shows are 'high energy face rippers that stand out like a meteor'. Since 2013 she has toured across the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA whilst sharing stages with punk luminaries Billy Bragg, Mick Jones (The Clash), Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Buzzcocks, New Model Army, Stiff Little Fingers, US Bombs, Television and The Damned to name a few. Notable performances include Glastonbury Festival, Rebellion Festival, Punk Rock Bowling, Shepherds Bush Empire, Manchester Academy, and NYCs infamous Bowery Electric. Louise Distras has been praised by The Guardian, The Independent, Big Cheese, Slam Magazine (DE), New Noise (USA) and Big Takeover (USA), BBC Radio 1, XFM, Team Rock Radio, Inter FM (JPN), and KROQ (USA) who have all pinpointed Distras' as "one of the most exciting and original singer - songwriters from the UK". This dark haired troubadour shows no signs of slowing down as she coninues to spread her gospel of love from the streets, to the stars and everywhere in between. As her star continues to rise in 2016 with the heavily anticipated follow up to her 2013 debut record, Distras recently revealed that she has returned to the studio to work on new material. Following her recent USA tour and punk rock bowling mainstage appearance Louise Distras has announced she will be returning to mainland Europe this Autumn, and this time she will be bringing with her lots of new songs and a full live band.
Edgy punk rock from Sweden.
Restless and bored the trio decided to write a bunch of songs, get a van and spend their time on the roads in Europe. Houndreds of shows in over two handfuls of countries later the sweds are now one of the tightest, most intense live bands on the scene. With the new album Dogs On The Run (released by Sunny Bastards) fresh out of the oven the band is hungrier than ever to keep hitting the stages!
The punkrock trios restless flirting with folk, SKA and rock'n'roll combined with the intense mix between the two vocalists Martin and Paulina the energy is on a constant high!
2013 the album Boredom Fighters was released and earned the band a lot of respect for the great songwriting and intense switching between the two vocalists. Now the new album Dogs On The Run is finally here, right when the world needs it the most with hymns against sexism, against racism and tributes to this life and all the great things going on in that we sometimes tend to forget about!
Feets will be moving, hips will be shaking and throats will be singing!
