This fundraising event supports ANNUNCIATION HOUSE. A shelter for refugees and homeless poor located just a few blocks from the US/Mexico border in El Paso, Texas. We primarily serve people who have been called illegals referring to their undocumented status and the poverty, injustice and oppression which are so much a part of their reality. Since 1978, a team of unpaid volunteers live together with an always changing flow of guests, providing basic services such as food, clothing, medical attention and a place to rest. We follow the principles of hospitality, advocacy and education, especially through raising consciousness about issues facing the border such as immigration, economic development, human rights and social justice.
